All spindlepins™ are hand made with hand spun yarn. The yarn can be wool, silk, cotton or any other exotic fiber that I might have spun. And the colors, they come in so many colors! Average size of the low/high whorls is 3" and the Navajo is about 4". Wear on your handknit sweaters, jacket lapel or pin on a favorite woven scarf. Pick one that is right for you! And they make great gifts (:-).
What are spindlepins™ you say? They are pins that look like miniature spindles, high whorl, low whorl or Navajo! Are you a spindle spinner? This is a fun way to proclaim your love of spindles!

My Info:
Now, just who is this spindlepins™ person? My name is BJ (Barbara) Heeke. My family & I relocated to Waco, Texas June of 2000. This was quite a change for me after living my entire life in the beautiful state of Washington. I was fortunate enough to connect with spinners in the area before we moved. My local guild is The Heart of Texas Spinners & Weavers Guild . I have been president for the last few years. I also started up the Texas Fiber Guild July 2003. We have a yahoo list as well Texas Fiber Guild list.
I have been spinning for over 20 years, knitting for twice that. I really got into spindling in a major way after the spindle issue of Spin-Off came out in 1995. I have a rather extensive spindle collection now. Have not counted them yet, but I probably could spin on a different one everyday of the month. Some I use more than others, but each is dear to me and they all have their own personalities. Now, I have not gotten around to naming them as I did my spinning wheels, but I may someday. Thanks for stopping by! bj |
